"Desert House Party"

A party at the Kaufmann Desert House, designed by Richard Neutra, Palm Springs, 1970. This has arguably become one of Slim’s most iconic photographs.   The home’s then owners were socialite & real estate expert Nelda Linsk (in yellow) & her husband art dealer Joseph Linsk (wearing cravat). Nelda recalls years later that Slim had called that morning and said “I want to come over and do a pool shot. Call some friends over. Pull something out of your closet (in reference to their clothes)”.
